The Folly of Human Conceits IV
Pale Blue Dot on acetate on pocket mirror
2.5 x 3 x 2.5 in
As an artist and an American with a conscience and empathy who experienced many struggles to make a living while the leader of the free world demonstrated a troubling knack for abusing power, my appreciation for science experienced a renewal during the rule of the 45th president of the United States.
This work was made with the intention of catalyzing ego checks and/or boosts (whichever the community is in need of) while reminding viewers of how we all exist in connection to a context that is stupendously larger than ourselves.
